Recording and uploading a meeting

VooHr provides browser microphone recording and alternate ways to prepare a transcript. You choose what to submit, and should follow your organization's consent and recording rules before capturing a conversation.

Record with the browser #

The Dictation page asks the browser for microphone access and records audio as WebM using MediaRecorder. When you stop, the browser sends the recording to the transcription endpoint. The resulting text is placed in an editable transcript field; recording audio is not saved automatically as a separate audio archive by this path.

Recording requires a supported browser, microphone permission, and a successful transcription service request. If permission is denied or the browser cannot create a WebM recording, use a permitted alternative such as a transcript file or pasted text.

Upload audio, an image, or text #

Audio uploads accept MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, and WEBM in the interface, with a 25 MB client-side limit. The backend accepts selected audio MIME types up to 26 MiB. Image upload accepts PNG, JPG/JPEG, and WEBP up to 10 MB in the interface; the server verifies the image and extracts text using its configured vision provider. Plain .TXT files are read in the browser and placed in the transcript field.

These are different workflows: OCR reads visible text in an image; it does not transcribe speech from an image. Inspect any generated transcription or extracted text for omissions and errors.

Save and review #

After recording or uploading, read the transcript field and correct names, speaker attribution, numbers, and context before saving. The page lets you edit the text before creating a session. When a saved transcript is edited later, the edited version is preferred for analysis; the original raw text remains part of the session data.

The system request limit is not a promise about maximum recording duration. Actual usable length depends on the file size, browser, transcription provider, network, and server request cap.

  1. Choose browser recording, supported file upload, or pasted transcript.
  2. Grant microphone access or select an audio, image, or TXT file.
  3. Wait for transcription or image text extraction.
  4. Review and correct the transcript.
  5. Save the session.

Use this guidance thoughtfully

This page describes the current product workflow; it is not an HR policy or a promise about every deployment. Before acting on information about an employee, verify the source record, consider context the system cannot see, and use your organization's process. If a control behaves differently from this guide, check the current workspace UI and confirm the saved result rather than assuming an action completed.
